The Debate Around Sweeteners and Sugar Alcohols (Part 2)
Sweeteners and sugar alcohols have been the subject of scientific research for years, with varying assessments.
Points of discussion include:
- taste and sweetness perception
- use in calorie-reduced foods
- technological properties
- and individual tolerance.
Digestion and individual tolerance
Some sugar alcohols can cause digestive discomfort in sensitive individuals or when consumed in larger amounts. This is why certain products carry corresponding notices.
Research and nutrition
Possible links between nutrition, the microbiome and various metabolic processes also continue to be studied scientifically. Many of these questions are not yet considered conclusively settled.
The UNE Foods approach
UNE Foods focuses on protein-rich, high-Fiber recipes with selected ingredients and clean-label-oriented development.
Our recipes contain no added sugar and no sugar alcohols. The focus is on:
- selected raw materials
- transparent product development
