What Are Macronutrients?
Macronutrients are the main components of our diet and provide energy. They are divided into three groups: proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Each plays a unique role in the body.
- Proteins: Building blocks for muscles, cells, and enzymes.
- Carbohydrates: Quick energy source.
- Fats: Long-term energy, essential for cell structures and hormones.
A balanced diet includes all three macronutrients in the right proportion. Your body needs them daily – in different amounts depending on your lifestyle and goals.
